  November 3, 2016 - Blind tasting of wines from Northern Rhône. Rather distinct notes of black cherries, morello cherries, licorice, graphite, leather, black olive tapenade and slightly stewed fruits on the nose. Full-bodied and focused, with noticeable yet silky-smooth and ripe tannins. A few notches up on the more alcoholic side. Still appears rather young. Flavors of black cherries, olives, clove, licorice, leather and roasted meat on the palate. Long-lingering aftertaste of dark fruits and juicy spiciness. The potential is clearly there. 93+
  
  Righto, the only bottle I took home with me after the tasting, so that I might have another look at this the next day. After an overall wait of 3 days: bouquet now consists mainly of black cherries, licorice, graphite and sous bois. The alcohol is less prominent now and much better integrated. The wine appears dark, brooding, more persistent and full of depth now. Very enticing and promising. 94
  
  Blindverkostung Nördliche Rhône. Präsente Noten nach satter Schwarzkirsche, Schattenmorelle, Lakritz, Graphit, Leder, schwarzer Oliventapenade und leicht gekochten Früchten. Im Mund recht konzentriert, körperreich, mit präsenten aber seidenen und reifen Tanninen und kräftigem Alkohol. Wirkt noch sehr jung. Am Gaumen Noten von Schwarzkirschen, Oliven, Gewürznelke, Süßholz, Leder und gebratenem Fleisch. Langer fruchtig-würziger Nachhall. Potenzial ist klar erkennbar. 93+
  
  Nach 3 Tagen besteht das Bouquet vorwiegend aus Aromen von Schwarzkirschen, Süßholz, Graphit und sous bois. Der Alkohol wirkt nun etwas hintergründiger. Wirkt dunkel, brütender, persistierend und tiefgründig. Sehr verführerisch und vielversprechend. 94
