November 3, 2016 - Blind tasting of wines from Northern Rhône. The nose is dominated by morello cherries, that were enwrapped in old, tanned and weathered leathers. Plums, cloves, black pepper and some raisins join in after some additional aeration. Slightly sweetish, noticeable tannins in the mouth, with fresh acidity and a medium body. Flavors of cherries, blackcurrants, leather, blood oranges, licorice and some stewed, red fruits on the palate. Long finish. The wine has a great structure and appears well-dosed and still juvenile, despite its rather characteristic hallmark of always leaving this wonderfully morbid impression on me.
Blindverkostung Nördliche Rhône. Die Nase wird dominiert von Schattenmorellen, welche in viel abgetragenem, gegerbtem Leder eingewickelt sind. Pflaume, Gewürznelke, Pfeffer und etwas Rosinen kommen mit zunehmender Belüftung hinzu. Im Mund leicht süßliche, präsente Tannine, eine frische Säure bei mittelkräftigem Körper. Noten von Kirschen, Cassis, Leder, Blutorange, Lakritz und etwas gekochten, roten Früchten finden sich am Gaumen. Langer Abgang. Der Wein wirkt strukturiert, wohl dosiert und noch jugendlich.
