  November 3, 2016 - Blind tasting of wines from Northern Rhône. Wonderful bouquet of dark cherries enwrapped in old leather, olives, Panpepato, black pepper, spices, cigar box, cedar wood and Vieille Prune. Full-bodied, with tremendous drive, ripe, noticeable tannins and strong alcohol. Lush black cherries, leather, juicy spices, licorice and cherry pits form the flavor profile on the palate, also persisting throughout the rather long-lasting aftertaste. Powerful and elegant at the same time, equipped with an alluring juicy spiciness and thanks to the wine’s highly developed drive, probably sooner on the brink of extinction than later. This vintage should bring us all much joy and happiness in the years to come (and I’m seriously looking forward to having the 2011 La Chapelle now).
  
  Blindverkostung Nördliche Rhône. Herrliche Nase nach in altem Leder gewickelten Schwarzkirschen, Oliven, Panpepato, schwarzem Pfeffer, Gewürzen, Zigarrenbox aus Zedernholz und Vieille Prune. Im Mund körperreich, mit einem wahnsinns Trinkfluss, reifen, präsenten Tanninen und kraftvollem Alkohol. Satte Schwarzkirsche, Leder, Gewürze, Süßholz und Kirschkerne stellen den Eindruck am Gaumen. Sehr langer Nachhall. Kraftvoll und elegant zugleich, saftig-würzig und dank des Trinkflusses vermutlich ein stark vom Aussterben bedrohter Wein. Der wird noch viele Jahre Trinkspaß bereiten.
