January 11, 2017 - give it time. This should be held for another 2-5 years if you want to see its full potential.

1/13/17, 5:52 AM - Nice note as usual and very helpful. I barrel tasted the 2014 Myriad Dr Crane Elysian with Mike in May and it was one of the best wines that I've had. I'm anxious to revisit the 14 Elysian and the 14 Dr Crane. I was thinking about sacrificing a bottle of the 14 Dr Crane to see where it is at but I'll hold-off for at least a year in light of your thoughts. As I'm sure you are well aware, Mike recommended giving all his 2014 higher-end cabs at least a year from their release.

1/13/17, 8:18 AM - Absolutely hold off on opening a bottle. This week we opened a bottle and I was saddened I did. Nothing wrong with the bottle but there was no doubt we killed a baby. Some of his wines are huge powerhouse wines that when consumed early, remind me of barrel samples (Quivet LPV), Dr. Crane does not. This may end up being one of his best wines ever but needs time.

1/13/17, 9:08 AM - Thanks again. Interesting that some are already popping the 2014 Dr Crane Elysian. As recently mentioned, I'm inclined to rely upon the winemaker going forward especially when considering if drinking young. Mike did say one year at a minimum but another two years as you stated makes sense. I'm going to be patient. Take care.
