Community Tasting Note

March 18, 2017 - Tried this after a bottle of 2000 Bordeaux. This is not a tasting note, but more of a piece of humble advice and a reminder to self. DO NOT MIX WINE GENRES WHEN DRINKING PROMISING WINE. Its a waste of your money and shameful for the wine. I don't care what people say otherwise..I am sold on this fact, after falling victim to this trap over and over and taking innocent wine down with me. If you are going to have a Bordeaux adventure, make it all Bordeaux...a California adventure should be all about California wines, blah, blah, blah...I left the other half of the wine in the bottle on the table and went home. I guess as I am getting older I definitely don't drink wine for the alcohol effect. I must admit that when I got home, I had a scotch! Thanks for reading the rant...

5/10/17, 5:44 PM - Couldn't agree more. Although I will say I tend to get snarkier towards the CA wines more often than not when I mix the two. That being said...better to let each world alone.

5/11/17, 6:27 AM - Thank you my flying burrito brotha! I'm sure that allot of good wine gets less love because of the whole mix and match deal. Its also very nice to enjoy a full bottle of wine instead of tasting and tasting and tasting...what the hell are people tasting so much for if they don't intend to own the wines and drink a full bottle with a good friend or hell, even alone! I am especially annoyed by this one taster who is JUST NOW posting all his notes from 2005 En Primier! As if it really matters now! I can tell you what happened in 1990, but that's what history books are for. My god, this wine thing gets too serious sometime. Cheers Amigo! and Thank you for the reply :-)

7/6/17, 11:29 AM - I agree too, I recently had a Bordeaux vs. Napa comparison and it didn't work for me. The contrast was so significant in my case. I did a note to self to...thanks for posting your rant, more of us should.
