December 31, 2016 - Initially rather notable aromas of noble wood, notes of vanilla, butter croissants as well as a mineral touch, too. After additional aeration in a decanter the wine’s bouquet becomes considerably more complex with notes of fine spices, pineapples, yellow apples, some banana, some mango, freshly sliced peaches as well as understated lactic notes that reminded me of salted butter. Well-integrated 13% abv. Medium-bodied and more on the sleeker and elegant side, with crisp and vibrant acid, and a nice, decent creaminess and richness. Well-integrated wood on the palate, with exotic fruit flavors, yellow fruits, paired with a tobacco-like spiciness and a touch of tannin. Great balance and a long-lasting finish. Can easily be held, but was already quite enjoyable after having spent some time in a decanter.
Anfangs noch etwas vordergründiges, edles Holz mit Aromen von Vanille, Buttercroissants und Mineralik. Mit zusätzlicher Belüftung dann eine herrlich duftige Nase nach feinen Gewürzen, Ananas, gelbem Apfel, etwas Banane, etwas Mango, frisch aufgeschnittenem Pfirsich sowie unaufdringlichen, laktischen Noten wie gesalzener Butter. Gute integrierte 13 Vol.-%. Im Mund eher schlanker und elegant mit mittlerem Körper, knackig-frischer Säure sowie einer schönen, dezenten Cremigkeit und angenehmen Fülle. Gut eingebundenes Holz am Gaumen, eher exotische und etwas gelbe Frucht, gepaart mit einer leicht tabakigen Würze und einem Touch Tannin. Schöne Balance. Langer Abgang. Kann durchaus noch gerne liegen, hat mir allerdings, nach etwas Zeit in der Karaffe, auch schon viel Vergnügen bereitet.848 views
