March 3, 2016 - We don't get many chances to taste wines that are mostly Carignan. Having actually worked in a winery making Carignan, to me the nose and palate entry are so typical to what I experienced. Superb, expressive, roses and fresh crushed strawberries. Almost full bodied. Reminds me of Barbera with the same fruitiness and mouth feel. Distinctive black cherry with the red fruit on the palate. Not tannic or overly acidic. Fruity friendly finish.
