April 10, 2017 - This is a lovely ripe, Chianti Classico under one condition: Speaking words of wisdom, let it breathe, let it breathe. Off the pour it's downright gnarly and takes a good hour to shake off the grip of abundant tannins and acid. Then it offers attractive sour cherry notes, leathery accents, a streak of stony minerality and a supple though still tannic mouthfeel. Seems like a bit of a throwback-certainly not out to charm you, at least at this stage. Drunk over two nights with sausage and then a grilled grass fed burger: yes. Will love you longtime.
