  May 20, 2017 - 39th Annual Zinfandel Retrospective - the 2012s (R&D's): Reticent at first; muddled red fruit notes. Flavors of cherry, raspberry and spice. Becomes perfumed and flroal, with red fruit, raspberry and spice underneath. Good tannins and flavors of raspberry and pepper. Briary through the finish. Balanced. Long finish. At times almost "juicy."

  As my introduction to the flight stated, ranking was difficult because of the way these changed- and kept changing. I noted my scores (91-92, 91+ and 92...essentially the same score for my top three), and ranked the wines.
  
  As the scores were close, I grabbed the glasses and went back and forth and decided on the ranking. I didn't feel it was worthwhile to adjust the scores of three wines I had at 91+, 91-92 and 92.
