June 11, 2017 - I tend to find Voge a bit on the modern, riper side, but this "off" vintage is really a great fit for the producer. There is plenty of fairly rich, dark red fruit, in the boysenberry and dark raspberry spectrum, bit of meat and smoke, hints of iron and iodine, mouthwatering acidity, and just enough fine structure to balance it all. Really nice at this youthful stage, and should be a nice ager for a decade or two.
