June 17, 2017 - This is showing significantly better than even just a few months ago. Slo Ox for 9 hours. Wonderful expressive nose. Black cherry and cassis on the front mixed with nutmeg and cloves as well. A hint of campfire smoke and just a touch of menthol in the mid palate pushes it into the very long finish with dark chocolate. Mouthfeel is round and velvety. Such a great balance between sweet and savory and showing so much complexity and seamless after just a few years of bottle age. After having some 2012 Napa cabs that were underwhelming and overly extracted and sweet it is nice to see how a truly amazing wine can reach such heights and maintain its balance to live up to the hype of the 2012 vintage.
