July 22, 2017 - Base of neck fill with a partly soaked cork, which came out nicely in one piece. This was in very good shape indeed. Held up well on the second day too. Fully resolved tannins and a silky and full mouthfeel. Cigar box, leather and a bit of mint. Sweet, ripe dark fruit on the palate with elegant freshness from the acidity. The finish is also elegant, but perhaps not quite as long as I would've hoped for in light of the other qualities of the wine. A very fine St. Julien from a vintage that continues to impress.
