August 5, 2017 - On opening, I was worried and disappointed, as this was thin, flat, and lacking in any character. I had invited some Finger Lakes luminaries to dinner and was a bit embarrassed, esp as one of my guests brought a 2001 DRC La Landonne (which was amazing!). This Gambal was a disappointment, in comparison. However...ta dah...after being opened for 5 hours, it was AMAZING. So much depth, earthiness, dill, herbs (esp sage)... I'm astonished. If you have some, decant it for 3-5 hours before serving. But, take a taste upon opening so that you can see for yourself the miraculous transformation. I hope your experience is as magical as mine.

or
Guigal La Landonne?
either way, you win! -
