September 10, 2017 - The cruise continues! Night eight aboard the Allure of the Seas and 50% off all wines. This was still way too young and we left it for the next day.
Deep ruby red. Dusty nose with a touch of dirty cellar. Needed to air out and out came the layers with cherries, cassis, forest floor, spices and oddly a touch vegetal. Heavy tannins (8/10) and full bodied. Tons of structure and balanced acidity with layers of dark cocoa, red cherries and earthy undertones. Long finish and this definitely needs some time. 9/14/17, 12:52 PM - Sweet, I'm taking a cruise on the Silver Seas The Muse next year and have a feeling they will have some nice wines. Hopefully, they'll have a 50% off night as well!
