Decanting didn’t help, but after a day (decanted, then back in the bottle, then left on the counter) the wine was quite a bit better. I would hold this for a few years, then revisit. Could merit a significantly higher score once it unwinds...
Extra comment: To try and coax this wine out of its shell, I initially double-decanted, then ended up leaving it in the bottle, loosely corked, on my counter. I finished it four days after opening it, and by then, it had opened up and was much improved. Maybe it would merit 90, at peak, but that was on day four. Nobody opens a bottle four days early, so I'm not going to change my rating, but it is worth keeping in mind...1 person found this helpful 9,095 views
