10/14/17, 3:27 PM - cweiss-I was saddened to hear about the bad run you have had and went back to see whether I had had any similar experiences with the 2000 Frédéric Émile. While it has often seemed rounder and richer than many other vintages (although less so as it has matured), I have never noticed oxidation. Eighteen out of 19 times, I have tasted or drunk full bottles, so I wonder if this is another example of different selection and/or different bottling practices for smaller formats. I have no knowledge of Trimbach's practices in this regard. This is a germane topic now since to date, the great 2010 has only been released in half bottles. Your note provides another reason to be patient and wait for the 750's.

11/2/17, 4:42 AM - I suspect that in this case the problem was heat damage, though the bottling in smaller format may have made them more susceptible. I have had plenty of Trimbach half bottles without problems.
