October 22, 2017 - Big 50 lunch (Mi Casa): Finally starting to show maturity. Perfectly harmonious unbelievably complex nose displaying apricot, dry apricot, red currant, candied orange peel, a hint of medicine, crème bruless, candied ginger, botrytis, spicy spices and coppery mineral. Perfectly harmonious and balanced palate, classic airy cotton candy like D’Yquem texture, so finely layered, spicy/botrytis mouthfeel, bright acidity, coppery mineral and a seamless long apricot, red currant and ginger driven finish. Incredibly airy texture, intensity, purity, balance and harmony make this perfect! IMO, two of the greatest D’yquems made since 1950 are the 75 and 01.

10/28/17, 6:44 PM - Thanks for the wonderfully detailed note. Wondering where you think the 86 and the trilogy fall among these greats. Don't have any of the 75 or the 01 but have 86, 88 and 90. Cheers.

The 86, 88 and 90 are all great D'Yquem as well. I just find the 75 so special along with the 01.
