  October 30, 2017 - Big strong well made wine, but somewhat one dimensional. Five years in and still too early to tell if it will get more interesting or if this is as good as it gets. Saturated inky/purple. Ripe berry nose with a whiff of smoke. Rich full bodied ripe fruit flavors coat the tongue. Decent finish fades to a slight green-stem bitterness at the end. Not much secondary flavor development yet. More than decent with food, and plenty of stuffing for the long haul. Not sure where this is going though. Fine but unremarkable as is, I'm hoping it improves with time. Five more bottles in the cellar. 80% bordeaux varietals and 20% Syrah/Malbec.
