November 7, 2017 - This lone forgotten bottle was discovered during a move. I had zero expectation that this was alive, even though it had been bought on release and stored at ideal conditions since then.
Color very youthful; not opaque like this must have ben at bottling, but a dark ruby with very little bricking near the edges. Nose was still mostly primary with jammy black fruit on the nose. Some secondary notes of leather, but overall impression is still more one of a primary, youthful wine.
Complexity and finish were average, but this was a very satisfying bottle with a winter lamb stew.
Was this worth cellaring for 15 years? Probably not. However, it was still quite the surprise, and was a good lesson in the aging power of quality Petite Sirah.596 views
