November 11, 2017 - 2017 Villa d’Este Wine Symposium - Kelly and Kevin's excellent adventure; 11/9/2017-11/14/2017 (Villa D’este, Lake Como and Milan): Beautifully perfumed nose, raspberry preserve, crushed blackberry, very floral, grilled fat, sesame, toast, sap and earthy mineral. Excellent concentration, beautifully layered black and red fruit, exceptional finesse and purity especially for the vintage, silky and airy, perfect amount of acidity, strong mineral presence and a long pure black fruit and sesame/toast driven finish. This has settled a bit, not as opulent but more detailed and floral. Still needs another decade to reach the youthful peak. What I really love about Rouseeau wines is that they never shutdown hard, always delicate, pure and hedonistic.
