  December 2, 2017 - This wine is currently a tricky proposition. It is quite tannic, with powerful muscular tannins overwhelming the mouthfeel. There is not a lot of sweetness coming through from the dark, dark fruits, and a deeply herbal mid-palate leaves an acidic, almost sour taste in the mouth. There is great potential here, and there is no doubt that this will develop into an exceptional wine, but is in need of many years to reach that goal.
  
  It paired well with a very sharp cheddar cheese, but was hard going on its own.
