December 25, 2017 - This wine is marvelous in its purity of fruit, not compromising with its core, not giving away anything but its true identity - the Pinot fruit is not masked by luxurious oak, there’s no sous-bois, no earthy depth, no truffle like pungency - all the marks of excellence that we have come to know and love in delicious burgundy. But there’s Pinot perfume and aroma to give you your money’s worth. Just that it is all fruit, and some green stems. The smell is that of cutting through tulips stems and of running the tap for ice cold water. And of letting a mountain of raspberries and lingonberries slip through your fingers as you dig deep into the pile of berries, trying a couple in your mouth and feeling the saliva inducing tartness shock your tongue and palate. There’s a long tart finish, not unlike middle eastern pickles, creating the want for more. And yet, with all this depth of fruit, and curious acidic freshness that just feels like the most advanced food experience you ever had, the wine is so very light on its feet, alcohol levels low and color translucent. A sublime yet simple wine, elegance and purity combined in a minimalist piece of art.
