December 26, 2017 - Decanted for 30 minutes. Medium-darker garnet color. Fascinating notes of dark plum, cigar tobacco, cedar wood, anise, dill, vanilla, also some red fruit. It's medium+ bodied but dense, with medium+ tannin and medium-high acidity providing structure and freshness. Good length. An old-school, classic and fascinating Rioja that is a lot of fun to drink now and over the next 5-7 years. (93+)
