December 31, 2017 - This was touted as the "reliable under$20 bottle". I really think one can do a lot better. To me this was a symphony played on one instrument, and to one note. Meh.

2/2/18, 10:43 AM - Thanks for the comment! A couple of Washington wines come to mind, which I've had recently - the Ch. St. Michelle "Indian Wells" Cab is pretty widely available; and the Luke Cabernet "Wahluke Slope" - both pretty darned good for under $20.

ROTFL. While I'm also not a "fan" of this, I have to admit the "note & instrument" WERE *well-chosen* for their (apparently) intended audience.
The preceding notwithstanding, I *quite* agree re the Luke being a superior choice. [I've had at least 2 diff vintages.] Another one, also WA, & easier to find: Intrinsic, a Ch. Ste. Michelle product made by their Columbia Crest winemaker, Juan Munóz Ocha. While, like the basic Daou, Intrinsic also pushes the swtness level, its "natural" [for WA] acidity is higher, pushing it up at LEAST a couple of 100 pt scale pts for MY palate.
