January 11, 2018 - Found a hidden bottle of this in the cellar. At 10 years Old it was dated. Not terrible but shut down and not showing anywhere near it’s best. Some fruit as the air got into it. Some leftover tannin and mushrooms. It went okay with pizza but I won’t be holding any of Monsanto CCR longer than 5 years. It’s a good value CCR but not good for longer term aging.

1/11/18, 5:22 PM - It is the 2007 vintage. It was a warm year. The 2004 and 2006 are still showing very well.

1/11/18, 5:30 PM - I agree. But for $5-$10 more I would buy Caparzo BdM, the little green label that could, for aging longer than 5 years.

I like my Chianti around that 4 year mark. Just a personal preference. CCR and BdM aren’t nearly the same beast.
