  January 12, 2018 - This is ridiculously drinkable. The nose is fresh with a hint of old spices. Straight out of the bottle it is juicy with a nice acidity; didn't at all feel like it is a 16 year old bottle. With air, it mellowed down, shed a bit of fruit, acquired depth and gravitas; but still very light on its feet. There is the ghost of sweet vanilla, not at all intrusive. I really liked this wine. Perfect for the wintry January afternoon.
  ..On the second day, it took a savory turn. It was sublime with mushrooms and fine grained tannin. More minerally. I wish I had saved more for the second day.
