  January 12, 2018 - Same btl as R&Rlers. Served immediately after and almost concurrent with my '04 Dom tonight. This wine totally crushed the Dom, IMO. I like Kevin's adjective "aggressive". I might seek bit more finesse but it completely compensates for that with gobs of lip smacking, intense, mouth coating, complex layers of citrus, minerality, toast and gusto. This came along and elbowed out almost all remnants of the more ethereal and feminine Dom. The Dom was dominated and nearly eliminated from memory with this wine. Loved it! Drinking fairly young too for an '02 with zero signs of premox.

  1/14/18, 11:49 AM - Totally loved this one too, the power reminded me of a baby Salon. It was my #2 behind the '06 Salon at a walkabout tasting that included '04 Churchill, '09 Cristal, '06 Tattinger CdC, '09 Dom, Krug 164, etc.
  Incredibly youthful for 2002. I recently bought a 2004 DP, so it's a bit disappointing if it's not as good as the NFB, but perhaps the DP just needs to be enjoyed on its own. It's sort of like how at Best Buy, the brightest TVs tend to look better next to dimmer sets, but once you watch the dimmer set in a dark movie room type setting, it shines.
