  January 22, 2018 - One word: HOLD. Drank this over 3 days because the first 48 hours were just weird but wanted to give it a chance to open up given the producer.
  Day 1: Tons of coconut (what the heck?) and astringent red fruit. Very disjointed and reticent. Day 2: A little less coconut and more depth to the fruit, with some baking spice now showing alongside darker fruit, still very disjointed and "hard" on the palate. Day 3:the heavens opened up. No longer disjointed and hard. Suddenly has gorgeous texture and is quite seamless with plenty of richness. Too bad only about 1/3rd of the bottle was left at this point.
  
  92 points on the 4-8 year potential of this wine. Needs time as shown by completely backward/weird first few days after opening.
