  February 14, 2018 - Undeniably Morey in character. This has aged some since the last tasting a good 8 years ago. I am evaluating tonight's impression against 5 prior bottles. The fruit has now moved to the darker side which I cannot remember having been a characteristic of this wine or the vintage. It has the midpalate multi-layered complexity one associates with good 1er cru/grand cru. I failed however to find in the earthy flavors something truly intriguing or unique ; more like several slightly different Morey Villages juxtaposed if that makes sense. I feel this will now become an aged wine moving to full blown secondary flavors and those who value the requisite freshness / acidic lift to go with food may be better advised to start drinking up .
