  February 22, 2018 - Popped and poured by a friend. This wine is in a seriously surly place. The color is a reassuringly medium cherry color. However ample swirling and airing are necessary to get a rise from it. After an hour or so it offers up some faint aromas of dried red fruits and flowers. In the mouth there is some fruit but it lacks the plumpness and sweetness suggesting ripeness; instead a disturbing amount of tartness leads the way. Oddly the tannins were reasonably tame. After another two hours of coaxing things did not get better. I have had this wine on four other occasions and it performed brilliantly each time. This must be a bad bottle.
