March 15, 2018 - Wow, this second bottle was just as good as the first. Such a cornucopia of savory and waxy flavors. Deep and complex, with a lovely finish. Totally lovely, and gaining, over four nights. It’s got to be one of the top whites we’ve had in the last year.

One little surprise, the cork was branded Tondonia — see picture. (And darn, I later discarded the cork before confirming the date branded on the top.) This is the second time in two months finding such a cork in the wrong L de H bottle — see my 2005 Bosconia note of Jan 16.

Edit: As the comment below says, and as I now notice, the label also shows “Tondonia” as part of the house’s name. And yet many other sources, including Hugh Johnson’s wine atlas (old, third edition, admittedly) the website where I bought it, K & L — even here on CT does not alert us to the full name. But thanks to roel, I’ll no longer be surprised to see that on the corks!

The corks wear the same branding regardless of the name of the wine in the bottle. I had a Cubillo this week that had the “Viña Tondonia” cork (logically). Great wines, glad to see you appreciate them :)
