April 2, 2018 - Color: light ruby core -> fully mature garnet/bricked rim. Sumptuous bouquet right on PnP of sandalwood and smoke, olives, bacon, leather, earth and roasted meat. Palate, as per my usual findings with mid-90's Chaves, distinctly a bit lighter than I'd prefer. That being said, still a lovely, feminine, fully mature expression of Hermitage. Palate showing roasted cherries, smoke, leather; the usual suspects. A bit drying on the medium-length finish, I think this should be consumed within the next few years lest you miss some of that old Chave magic. 92-93 & fully mature -- no reason to wait.
