June 11, 2018 - PnP. AG only gave this 88 pts, but I think this is better than the normale 2006 Ciacci Brunello. Has the color of a red burgundy. This has more tannic grip and acidity than the normale. This is a wine of breeding and class. Not showing overripe or pruney at all. Long finish.

6/12/18, 6:21 PM - Sometimes these guys just swing and miss. Most often to the upside (with insane 95-99 point scores ala Suckling and Moroni) but occasionally in the other direction. Recent case in point the 2013 I Sodi San Nicolo from Castellare. 94-96 points from everybody else, but only 90 from WS. And this is such a very refined, Burgundian Sangiovese, which you would think would be right in Sanderson’s wheelhouse. Go figure.
