July 9, 2018 - Somewhat underwhelming for a Carlisle Zin, but still very solid when compared to Zins in general. This bottle was closed and did not offer much on the nose or palate. Will write it off as an aberration, and suspect that the next bottle will be much better.

7/9/18, 8:41 PM - I had a similar experience with this wine....something was just off....disjointed, but it did get better and sort of come together by the end of the bottle over about 2 hours time. Haven't noticed this behavior with any other Carlisle zins so far.

7/13/18, 4:39 AM - Not sure if time in the bottle was the issue here, as my experience with Carlisle Zins is that they are drinkable upon release or with very short aging. But you make a good point and perhaps that was the case.

7/13/18, 5:09 AM - Roxies, not sure it's an aging issue. Seemed more like there were different types of grapes at different maturation levels with different physical properties and flavor profiles that just didn't mesh well together. Kinda like when an NFL owner amasses a 'dream team' of star players that then goes out and wins only 5 games all year. The team looked good on paper but just didn't win. That's what I felt after my bottle of this, FWIW.
