  July 15, 2018 - I have never tasted a pitch perfect, exact flavor of a perfectly ripe black cherry until this wine. Wow. A beautiful nose to boot. Also, very, very young. So much of this wine's flavor profile is lost in the mud. The tannins are still roaming around, muddering to themselves and need 5-10 years to pass on to the next world. If everything breaks right, this wine could be an absolute Beast. The Chocolate milk nose of Cheval is there for sure but not as pronounced as 2000, and its a bit boozy as well. Please don't open this wonderful bottle now, there is no reason unless you are learning to track this amazing terroir through time.
