Community Tasting Note

August 11, 2018 - Brought this to a wine dinner with a group of wine enthusiasts at East Ocean Teochew Restaurant last night.

Decanted for 1.5 hours before serving. Dark purple in colour with a nose filled with plums and elderflowers.

On the palate the wine was tight and closed. Not much flavour extraction and the tannins were still having a strong presence. Good potential but weak on delivery.

As compared to the last bottle, this bottle did not live up to expectation. Would either wait for a while before opening the next bottle, or let it breathe for a longer period of time before serving the next time.

8/16/18, 10:41 AM - I think it's too early to drink the 2012 Brunellos. I've just started drinking some 2010's. Give it more time and it will get better.

Part of the excitement of wine tasting is picking the right wine for the right occasion at the right time for enjoyment. It takes time and practice to get it right, and websites such as Cellartracker and the sharing of tasting notes go a long way in helping fellow drinkers to decide when and what to open where and with who.

We can't be right all the time; just enjoy the journey!
