August 13, 2018 - September 2017...I bought 6 bottles of this wine (free shipping!) from Last Bottle without knowing a thing about it. In hindsight, I don't know what I was thinking....Guess I fell for all the over-exuberance that describes every bottle they sell. I immediately regretted this decision, as the first bottle was flat and flabby, without much body or fruit. Weak structure. The next 2 bottles didn't fare much better.

Fast forward to tonight...I opened the 4th /bottle without much expectation, ready to pour out at least half of it down the drain...then, WOW! Oh my how this wine has aged! In just one year, this wine has really come together.

Drinking beautifully now, with deep dark cherry, strawberry, vanilla, and cola notes, complimented by juicy acidity and round tannins. Drink 2018-2020.

11/12/18, 4:41 PM - Out of curiosity, how much did Last Bottle charge for this wine? I've been buying stuff from Deep Sea for quite a while and had not seen any of their wines come up on LB before ... If you ever get a chance to try their 2013 "Double Barrel Reserve" Pinot, do so. Fantastic wine. But unlikely to show up on LB, as there is not much to go around...

11/13/18, 7:50 PM - Just looked it up on my LB account. Says I paid $89.02 for 6 bottles inc tax & ice pack, so price was probably $13/ea. Will keep an eye out for the Double Barrel Reserve.
