September 4, 2018 - If you like grippy, old-world rusticity, open now. Everyone else, open in a couple years. This wine is a changer. After 30 minute decanting: bright ruby red w/ brick edge. Med-light body. Nose not reminiscent of PN. More Sangiovese. Fresh cherry, ground almond, vanilla bean, eucalyptus, wet rubber, cinnamon. Palate: fresh cherry and tobacco, then muted out by tannin. 90 minutes: more PN typicity, nose has crushed raspberry, sweet smoke. Palate: still grippy, raspberry, underbrush. Interesting!
