September 16, 2018 - Extracted, pithy, gritty, and polished. At once brawny and pretty. Alcohol somewhat angular at present. It should evolve for five+ years. 90-91.

9/16/18, 6:07 PM - Our paths cross on an obscure wine this time Motzie. I tried this at the winery and the wife bought it. Been wondering when its time to drink it...Not necessarily a big wine for my wine buddies to enjoy...How much time do we have there with these in your opinio?

9/17/18, 7:13 AM - I have had two other vintages of this wine, including the 1994, which I thought showed the best balance and structure. It may be useful to read my two notes on that vintage, as I regard it the benchmark for this label. Other vintages have been more fruity and seemingly less structured.

I would not hold this vintage beyond 2025, and aging it might not gain much, as it will always be fruitier, oakier, and excessively polished than it needs to be...to say nothing of the angular alcohol. It could use two or three years to settle down though.
