September 14, 2018 - Simple and somewhat disappointing, this wine gave me the impression of a chardonnay/sauvignon blanc mix rather than a rich, focused vanilla cream viognier. My wife tasted this version and I won't even repeat her comments. Flavors included citrus fruit, almond, cut grass/hay, stone fruit and apple cider. The ripe and racy mouthfeel was delivered on an oily, mineral and slightly salty texture that led to a medium length finish. My impression was this wine didn't know what it wanted to be. Although I only drink viogniers on occasion, this one did not measure up to expectation or in quality to ones I have consumed.
