Community Tasting Note

  • Wine Fool Likes this wine: 95 points

September 27, 2018 - (Decanted for two hours.) This wine has a deep black cherry color. The nose is filled with extravagant aromas of black fruits, herbs, espresso, wet soil and wild game. It is full bodied with a very plump texture and rich, almost sweet flavors of ripe plum and raspberry, bacon, anise and dark chocolate. Make no mistake this is a ripe wine. Mercifully there is just enough acidity to keep it from being flabby. As such the moderately firm tannins are welcomed. Though very hedonistic and fun to drink, the wine lacks the clarity and precision to make it really great. That said it still merits 95 points for sheer sumptuousness.
