  October 18, 2018 - You know, this is pretty good. Nose is pretty alcohol-forward, almost brandy-like, but with a touch of browning fruit. But the palate is smooth and pleasant, and the fruit is just receding, which is, for me, a very pleasant time in the lifecycle of a wine, when the secondary characteristics are just starting to emerge against the backdrop of the fruit. The alcohol is a cautionary note, but I'm otherwise optimistic that this wine will continue to evolve in interesting ways.
  
  Having just returned from Spain and having been to Portugal in the past two years, this is a fun angle on the wines from the region.
