October 23, 2018 - The 2010 Tenuta Nuova is a drop-dead gorgeous effort from Giacomo Neri. A classy Brunello, that immediately impresses with it wonderful purity and lovely fresh character. Seductive aromas of ripe blackberries and dark cherries are followed by a mix of sweet spices, pretty floral, savory herbs and fresh minerals, which all come together and leap from the glass. This full-bodied Brunello is wrapped in beautiful silky tannins and displays a gorgeous seamless texture. Overall, this is a complexly compelling wine that demonstrates remarkable balance, depth and focus from start to finish without missing a beat. Today, the wine is already offering so much and quite accessible, that being said this will also prove to be age worthy as well. This may be the greatest Tenuta Nuova I have ever tasted, eclipsing some of the recent greats from the estate like ’01 and ‘06. The 2010 is a truly magnificent wine that should not be missed.
