November 10, 2018 - 2018 Villa d’Este Wine Symposium – Kelly, RJ, Justin and Kevin's excellent adventure; 11/7/2018-11/11/2018 (Villa D’este, Lake Como): Expressive youthful yet complex nose displaying intense opulent black fruit, blackberry, crushed blackberry, black cherry, licorice, tar, a hint of bell pepper/stem, white pepper, grilled fatty steak, perfume, sweet spices, Chinese medicine, Vosne spice and limestone. Unbelievably concentrated yet perfectly harmonious, rich and opulent yet refined and beautifully balanced, perfect amount of acidity and mineral, and a long intense black fruit driven finish with Asian medicine and grilled fat at the end. This is truly a monumental wine. Drinking beautifully in a very youthful way but can easily improve for two more decades.
