Community Tasting Note

November 18, 2018 - In general, I like the circa 2006 shift in Wells' style toward picking at lower Brix, but sometimes it just doesn't seem to work, and this is one of those wines. Coravin'ed, so not much chance to look at how this evolves, but I've had 2 glasses over a couple nights and my impressions are the same. Reminds me of some Texier wines, very high-toned, acidic, and lacking up front fruit. Like some Texier wines, this might just need more time, but right now it comes across as thin and a bit one-dimensional, showing all bright red fruits.

Drink them and make space for other things. Your note's descriptions given the vintage doesn't surprise me.
