Community Tasting Note

  • seijaro Likes this wine: 92 points

November 23, 2018 - Our 92 is an average of my 91-92 and my wife's 93-94, she obviously liked it more than I did. It's a very dark gold color and big, both in the nose and on the palate. Not the typical Chard flavors, maybe pineapple? Hard to pin down. We agree that it needs more time to integrate and calm down a little... at the moment it's odd.

6/26/19 Another bottle with lunch, a solid 93. It has calmed down a bit, now more subtle and Burgundy-like. Still delicious, just different from the previous bottle.

I’m really hoping the cloudiness is simply a function of not enough time in the bottle and will eventually clear up. Kind of reminded me of a scene from the movie Bottle Shock.

We regard it as a positive because it means the winemaker has not filtered out all the taste with things like using egg whites to "fine" it. As you surmise, it also suggests it needs more time.
