The palate is medium bodied and leads into blueberries, cassis, with a hint of Tuscan funk with mike chocolate lingering on the finish. There's a balance with the acidity that keeps the wine fresh amongst the lightly rounded tannin. This is everything I want in Tuscan Merlot...thank goodness these are still values ($35 is a sweet-spot for this level of quality where you're getting a deal on a wine that has depth an structure to improve with time and patience. Outstanding...I wish I had bought more.
