October 29, 2018 - $94 by the bottle at Farina in Raleigh, decanted through a cascade funnel. Very young and on the modern side- some cherries and leather but mostly tannin, very one dimensional. I knew it was young, but wanted a Barolo. Money is better spent elsewhere on the list until this gets some age. B- (82) as a restaurant purchase.

Obviously there are examples (at a hefty price) of aged Barolo and Barbaresco on a list, but generally, even in nicer places with nice bottles, it's infanticide what they're serving and simply not worth it. If there's not a Langhe nebbiolo or reasonably priced Gattinara (Traviligni a restaurant fav), I'll usually look for a suitable sangio or something like that, but I'm lucky up here in Jersey, as we have a lot of BYOB and eat pretty well at home.
