December 22, 2018 - Tasted alongside a Spanish Mencía (although the Mencía was ⅓ the price), this red blend was much smoother. It was a medium ruby with a dark core and slight orange toward the edges. There wasn't much on the nose—mostly ethanol—although blackberry and cherry came through later. It was full-bodied with smooth tannins and a moderate acidity. Blackberry and pepper were on the palate, with a long aftertaste of brown sugar and roasted coffee. In one word: smooth. It was enjoyed by everyone who tried it. Even at over $30 CAD, I would buy this again.
