December 26, 2018 - Classic Brunello, well aged and integrated. Doesn’t seem the very long lasting kind of vintage.
Light ruby colour with no signs of ageing yet. Aromas of ripe fruit and leather with some fresh cherry and funky hints of wet earth. Full bodied with mouth coating smooth tannins some sweet fruit that is nicely balanced out by the fresh acidity. A long finish that is slightly drying.
It is already quite well integrated and developped the ripe fruit seems to limit the further ageing potentential somewhat. I don’t think it will improve much. Drink now - 2022
Another example of my view that the ‘07 Brunelli can be rich and have classic aromas but are not of the long lasting kind and lack a bit of freshness that I like so much in many of the ‘99, ‘04 and ‘06
Still, a very good Brunello indeed!939 views
